Well hello! This is a complex, contemplative wine full of elegant dark fruits, rich spicy flavours and floral aromas. The tannins are supple and integrated and oak ageing adds a touch of toastiness. If the recently enjoyed 1999 is anything to go by, this is well worth laying down for a few years!

Once in a while Jim Barry visits his cellar and picks a mature wine to release to you lucky people. This 1999 shiraz is truly awesome stuff, but so elegant and refined it's untrue.

Former winemaker for Penfolds, John Duval has produced a near perfect example of the traditional Barossa blend. If you love Barossa reds, this one will be your best friend.

Typically Barossa jam on the nose with a medium bodied palate and great blackcurrant fruit. An easy-drinking introduction to the style.

The Viognier shines through on this wine's nose of red peaches (if there is such a thing). A real intensity of fruit on the medium-bodied palate then peaches again at the finish.

Slightly wonky version of the classic Barossa blend (Grenache is usually the boss grape, but here Shiraz is king). Earthy, raspberry fruits develop through a complex palate to a long, minty finish. Delish.

G.A.M. Shiraz comes from the Chinese Block vineyard in the Willunga district of the McLaren Vale. G.A.M. stands for the first letters of each of the Mitolo childrens' first names (Gemma, Alex and Marco). Powerfully built, it possesses layers of dried spice, coffee, blackcurrant and the wine displays fullness, freshness and seamless oak integration.

Though we usually associate Shiraz with warm regions, it also performs well in cooler areas like Adelaide Hills. This wine shows an elegant white pepper nose with blackberries, plum and liquorice on the palate, powdery tannins and an oaked finish.

This Aussie version of the revered Piemontese grape Nebbiolo comes from tha Barossa valley. Medium bodied yet with grippy tannins, it's a real grower - the more you taste, the more you get out of it!

Formerly known as 'Adams Road' and now renamed varietally, this is nicely integrated, with a good balance of the two grapes, great fruit and spice and a silky smooth texture.
