Venta la Vega, Adaras Aldea Tinto 2025 (Organic)

Get to know: Adaras Aldea Tinto Organic 2025

A vibrant Spanish red wine from the high-altitude vineyards of DO Almansa.

Tasting Note

Black cherry and kirsch lead the way, deep and supple, with redcurrant brightening things up underneath. There's a gentle lift of spice and liquorice running through it, just enough to keep you interested without weighing the wine down. It's juicy and smooth, and despite the warmer alcohol it stays light on its feet rather than turning heavy or jammy. Good by the glass on its own, and just as happy pulled up to the table. Give it a few minutes in a big glass before you get going and it opens up nicely.

Top food pairings:

  • Slow-cooked lamb or roast pork, the classic match for this style of wine
  • Charcuterie boards, for something more casual
  • A vegetable paella loaded with smoky, charred veg, plant-based and just as satisfying
Kate Says

"'Aldea' means village, and I like that it reflects the down-to-earth, human approach: Garnacha grown across the estate's farmland, brought together into one honest, juicy red. The vines sit at high altitude, and you can taste that freshness. You don't need an occasion for this one, just a Tuesday and a corkscrew."

Producer Info

Bodegas Venta la Vega farms more than 850 hectares of organically managed land in the mountainous landscapes of Almansa. High-altitude vineyards, reaching up to 1,200 metres, benefit from warm sunny days and cool nights, helping native grape varieties develop vibrant fruit while retaining freshness. Under the guidance of winemaker José Ángel Martínez, the focus remains firmly on expressing the character of the region through sustainable viticulture.

How it's made:

  • Varieties: 80% Garnacha Tintorera, 20% Syrah
  • Night harvested to preserve freshness and fruit character
  • Twenty days of maceration for colour, flavour and gentle tannin extraction
  • Fermented in stainless steel tanks at temperatures up to 30°C
  • Natural malolactic fermentation, partly in cask, followed by three months' maturation to soften the wine while retaining its freshness

Good to know:

  • Region: DO Almansa, Spain
  • Style: Red, still
  • Closure: Diam cork
  • Vegan: Yes
  • ABV: 14%
  • Vintage: 2025

Why we love it:

This Spanish red wine combines juicy black fruit, bright freshness and silky texture in a style that's incredibly easy to enjoy. Organic fruit, high-altitude vineyards and thoughtful winemaking come together to create a bottle that's equally at home on the dinner table or simply poured by the glass.
